After graduating from SUNY at Stony Brook, Nancy Ryan moved to California to begin her teaching career at St. Joseph School in Hawthorne, CA. Three years later, she returned to Stony Brook University to complete her Master's degree and expanded her certifications to Pre K, K, 1-6 and ELA 7-12. During that time, she accepted a teaching position in the middle school at St. Isidore School in Riverhead where her concentration has been Social Studies, ELA, Religion and Math. Her special area of study has become a history museum culminating in the presentations by 6-8 grade students of their social studies, ELA, technology and art projects. She has also led her students to host prayer services throughout the liturgical year, including the Living Stations of the Cross and the Living Rosary.

Mrs. Ryan's family has lived on the North Folk for 34 years, and, after receiving their education in Catholic schools, her two daughters are now working in education as well.
At St. John Paul 2, Mrs. Ryan will be the 8th grade teacher specializing in 6-8th Social Studies, 7th Religion and 8th ELA.
