Mrs. Mirabell’s Grade 2 Supply List for 2019-2020 for incoming students

1 2" binder with 30 clear protector sheets
1 Pack of 3x3 Post it notes (preferably lined)
2 folders with pockets (labeled: homework and classwork)
1 pack of dry erase markers - fine point
2 boxes of #2 pencils (sharpened) and 1 eraser                                                                  1 pencil case
1 ruler with inches and cm.
2 marble copy books (labeled homework/classwork and writer's notebook)                                                                                                   1 pack of index cards 1 art box (old lunch box) with the following supplies in it:
    2 Elmer's glue              1 box of crayons             1 pair of scissors
    2 rolls Scotch tape      1 box of magic markers   1 glue stick

2 containers or packages of baby wipes
1 box of gallon sized clear plastic bags
1 roll of paper towels and 1 box of tissues for class use                    1 set of headphones

*Please label everything with your child's name and make sure your child's name is inside all books.  No book covers are needed.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Mirabell.  I look forward to working with your child this year.  Second grade is such a super year!  In second grade the students will learn in a positive faith filled learning environment. Our classroom encourages risk taking and adjusts to the individual needs and learning styles of the students, whether working individually with a student, small group instruction or large group instruction.   

Some of the highlights of second grade:  literacy skills are strengthened and enhanced, new math concepts such as regrouping in addition/subtraction are taught, and cursive writing is introduced.  Students have fun learning in a hands on  S.T.R.E.A.M environment.

The students continue to grow in their faith as they prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
  First Reconciliation is t.b.a February t.b.a., 2020 at 7:00 p.m.
First Holy Communion is on Saturday, May t.b.a, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.

Second grade's Mass will be on Thursday, November 7, 2019 @ 1:00 p.m.  Our service project of collecting blankets, sheets, towels, etc for local animal shelters begins November 1st.
